Timber Primer
Whittle Waxes Timber Primer is a natural, solvent-free, water-based timber impregnation for interior and exterior use. It provides ecological protection that helps prevent blue stain, rot and pest attack without biocides, while preserving the strength of the timber.
Suitable for a wide range of timber applications including beams, roof trusses, battens, squared timber, furniture and antiques, Timber Primer works by reducing free lignin and cellulose in the timber, depriving wood-decomposing bacteria, fungi and insects of their food source. This means its protective action works physically on the timber rather than relying on biocidal active ingredients.
Timber Primer is supplied ready to use and should be applied undiluted in two coats using a brush, roller or cloth. Under suitable conditions, the surface can be overcoated after approximately 2 hours. Always test first, as the primer may slightly discolour some timbers.
